Hello! My name is Meghan Elder and I am your child's Special Education teacher this year. This is my sixteenth year to teach, while this is my thirteenth year to teach here at Whitney Elementary School. I graduated in 1992 with an Animal Science degree from Texas A&M University. In 1994, I obtained my teaching certification. During this time, I was fortunate to be a "stay at home mom" for seven years. I returned to teaching in 2004 where I began teaching first grade at Whintey Elementary and I am very glad to still be here at this school.
I have been married to my husband, Vince, for twenty-one years. We have two children, Dillon and Kendra. Dillon is an Sophomore at Texas A&M University and Kendra is a 12th grader at Whitney High School. When I am not at school, I am very busy helping my family run our small farm. We raise and show Charolais and Chianina cattle. Dillon and Kendra have been showing cattle since they were in third grade. We travel all over the country showing cattle. These travels are experiences we will never forget. My students will get to hear about some of my experiences and see a lot of pictures.
I am very excited about this year. Thank you for letting me be apart of your childs' education.
