Degrees and Certifications:
Hello Wildcat Fans! My name is Miss Amanda Adair, and this is my fourth year teaching Special Education at Whitney Elementary School. I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Tarleton State University in 2003, and received my alternative teacher certification in EC-6 & Special Education from Region 12's Teacher Preparation & Certification Program in June 2014. I first started working for Whitney ISD as a paraprofessional in the fall of 2009. Wow...I just now realized that I have been working in this district for almost 10 years!
I am very involved in my community. You may have seen me onstage at Lake Whitney Arts, where I also served as a board member for almost 6 years. I will also be Hill County's Relay for Life events chairman this coming Spring! I attend Whitney Fellowship at the Forum and assist with the youth group on Wednesdays. I have also volunteered as a co-director of Whitney Middle School's One Act Play in years' past.
In my spare time, I love to watch movies, read anything I can get my hands on, and spend time with my family and friends. I especially love to spend time with my friends' & cousins' children and listen to their stories. Believe you me, they always have a LOT to say. I also love to watch our Whitney Wildcats! Whether it's a football game, choir concert, or a softball game, I love to see our students doing what they love.
