I am honored to serve as principal of Whitney High School. This school and community are special to me and my family as all members are graduates of Whitney High, and we are blessed to call Whitney our hometown.  I graduated in 1989, starting college at Hill College and then transferring to Tarleton State University where I received my Bachelor's in Interdisciplinary Studies. My teaching career includes teaching kindergarten and first grade in several districts including Dublin, Hillsboro, and Whitney and also teaching middle school English Language Arts in Laredo and Whitney. I received my Masters in Educational Administration from Tarleton State in 2013. I am in my 22nd year of education and feel that working at the high school level is where I'm meant to be.

I have been married to my husband, Donovan Leech, for 30 years and have two grown children. Donovan is a 1988 WHS graduate who earned a degree in Biology from Tarleton State and then became a licensed P.T.A. He is co-owner of Lake Whitney Physical Therapy. We have two grown children and one grandson.

I consider the students and staff at Whitney High School my Wildcat Family. It is a privilege to work with parents and community members as a collaborative team in the education of the youth of our great town. We are looking forward to a wonderful school year.

It's a great day to be a Wildcat!
